About us

AUSTRALASIA LAW, WHO ARE WE?

AustralAsia Law is a boutique law firm located in Inala, Queensland.  We have been serving the Inala and surrounding communities since 2010.  Our clients come from as far away as Cairns, and even Sydney, but most are located in Brisbane.

Our legal team is headed by Anh Donald, Principal. Anh is ably assisted by Associate Michael Truong and a team of paralegals.

THE FIRM

The firm was founded by Anh Donald in 2010, and in 2011 it incorporated Huong Doan Solicitor.  It continued with Huong Doan Solicitor’s strong work in conveyancing and quickly established itself as a strong advocate in the field of migration law.  The firm’s work in migration was recognized in 2011 when AustralAsia Law was nominated for a Business Achievement Award.

Some of our notable successes are:

  • In 2023, we had 100% success at the Administrative Appeals Tribunal (AAT) for protection visas.

  • In both 2022 and 2023, we had 100% success with partner visa applications.

  • In 2019, we succeeded in defending a client against the charge of bigamy.  The husband was hoping to use the wife’s conviction to make the case for Home Affairs to deport her.

  • In 2016, we were one of the first law firms to obtain permanent residency for our client on the basis of domestic violence.  It is worth noting that the nature of the domestic violence in this case was not physical or financial; it was the future husband’s failure to disclose before our client’s arrival in Australia that he was gay.

In non-migration cases, we have defended clients on drug-related charges, common assaults, child protection matters and civil disputes such as ‘hui’ (a very complex and unique Vietnamese system of self-help financing), elder law such as retirement village disputes.
